Early Years Educator
Sevenoaks Day Nursery is a charity founded in 1986. We have our own premises on the site of the Bat & Ball Centre in North Sevenoaks. We are open 51 weeks a year, Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm and provide childcare to around 50 children a day. We currently have nineteen staff, many of whom have been with us over ten years and we're looking for one more to join us.
Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their development and learning through play-based activities. This position requires a strong commitment to early childhood education and the ability to effectively communicate with both children and their families.
Duties
Plan and implement engaging educational activities that promote children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
Create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all children in the nursery.
Observe and assess children's progress, keeping accurate records of their development.
Collaborate with colleagues to manage classroom dynamics and ensure effective teamwork.
Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding children's progress and any concerns.
Drive initiatives that enhance the quality of care and education provided in the nursery setting.
Lead by example, demonstrating best practices in childcare and early years education.
Skills
Proven experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
Strong leadership skills to guide and inspire both children and fellow educators.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
A solid understanding of early childhood education principles and practices.
Ability to manage classroom behaviour positively while fostering an encouraging atmosphere for learning.
A genuine passion for nurturing young minds and supporting their developmental milestones.
